Charles Dacres
(Independent Vice Chair of Trustees)
Charles Dacres is a lifelong Bradford resident and a respected community leader with over 40 years' experience promoting equality, inclusion, and community cohesion.
He is the Director of Bradford Hate Crime Alliance (BHCA), leading partnership work across the district to prevent hate crime, support victims, and strengthen community understanding. Charles also serves as Co-Chair of Active Bradford, helping to drive initiatives that improve health, wellbeing, and opportunities for people across the Bradford District.
In addition to his professional roles, Charles has served as a school governor, charity trustee, and community advocate, including as Chair of the Windrush Generations organisation.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Bradford's communities, he received the University of Bradford Outstanding Contribution Award for Services to the Community. Charles holds a Master's Degree in Diversity Management from the University of Bradford and remains committed to building stronger, safer, and more inclusive communities.
